Does anybody know of any working solution for this - preferably in the software realm? There have been some programs for this in the past - some of them even with VST support - but sadly different Win10 updates seem to have wrecked them. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any software that successfuly does the job so far. So my idea is basically to clamp down on the peaks by a good margin whenever stuff gets ridiculously loud, so that the volume is at a level where I can still understand what the mumbling and murmuring actors are saying before it all goes to pure insanity in the next scene.

Either you can't hear the dialogue, or the SFX blow your head off (and your neighbor's too. Due to the fact that audio decisions in TV and movies are made by complete and utter jackasses, watching stuff has increasingly become a very unpleasant experience for me.

Upon a system restart it continues to install my manufacturer's driver (which I don't want, as strange as that may sound).I'd like to control the loudness peaks of the Windows audio output.įor example, I often send the HDMI out from my graphics card to the big ass TV screen on the wall when watching Netflix/Amazon Prime on the computer, while the audio is coming from my audio interface/monitors.

Unfortunately, I am still trying to figure out how to have my PC always stick with the MS driver. This should have rolled it back to an MS driver, resulting in the Enhancements returning.

What I did was roll back the drivers to generic Microsoft ones, and my enhancement options cameġ) Right-click the taskbar audio icon, go to Playback DevicesĢ) Right-click Speakers (or whichever playback device applies in your scenario) and select Propertiesģ) Under the "Controller Information" section click Properties.Ĥ) Click "Change Settings" in the lower left of the window.ĥ) Go to the Driver tab, and click the "Roll Back Driver" button. If your problem happens to be the same as mine, the disappearance of Audio Enhancements could be due to Microsoft forcing a different driver for the sound card. So in the end, if the manufacturer of the computer doesn't plan to support Windows 10 for that machine you may not be able to get enhancements like Dolby working, but you can at least get general audio functionality running using the suggestions mentioned The troubleshooter can fix a number of different problems (not just the "no audio" scenario), and in fact we're working on building most of the solutions on the above blog post into the The suggestion of running the troubleshooter isn't a bad idea either. There are a few other troubleshooting tips on my blog post here: The OP has already discovered the trick of disabling enhancements, but as he noted this does break Dolby (since it is one of theĮnhancements being disabled). In that case there are a couple of options.

If it's an older machine, it's possible the manufacturer won't update the driver. I don't see any mention of the computer brand or model, but if it's a newer machine (less than 2 years old) then there should be a Windowsġ0 driver on the manufacturer's web site. I think the problem the original poster is experiencing is that his older drivers are not compatible with Windows 10. Has anyone else had this issue or is it just me? I have searched and searched treads/sites for a fix and everything seems to be for 8.1 and lower. I am not sure why this is, but there isn't any way to change enhancements settings. I cant seem to find any audio enhancement options atĪll.

Then i realized that the audio enhancements options in playback device options is no longer there for me to change. No matter what i do i cant seem to find a fix for it. I checked and it was working again but theĪudio sounded really, really bad. Then i realized by unchecking enable audio enhancements, it disables dolby V2. Reset and i went to my Dolby advanced audio V2 and when i opened it i noticed the audio visuals wasn't showing, it isn't working at all.
IS BREAKAWAY AUDIO ENHANCER SAFE FOR MY WINDOWS 10 MOVIE
Well just this morning i noticed while watching a movie with headphones on, i was hearing a lot of background noise in my house and the volume was at 100 and normally i only need it maybe 30 to cancel out noise around me. Finally i found a fix, by unchecking enable audio enhancements my audio was once again working right and sounded great. Was going on, i spent a few hours going through the process of elimination, changing setting, updating drivers etc. It sounded terrible and i couldn't figure out what I was getting a serious distortion, sounded like a alarm radio on full volume and sitting inside of a tunnel. I updated to windows 10 recently, like many others.
